Besides the nice weather…

Yesterday we visited the naming ceremony of the "Al Jmeliyah", which means "the beautiful one" in Arabic.

The vessel is classed as an ultra-large container vessel (ULCV) and is the last in a series of 17 newbuilds.

The current container-ship order-book is very top-heavy with ships between 14,000-18,000 TEU (Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit) and above, with almost 50% of all ships scheduled to be delivered by the end of 2020.

How best to utilize the fleet and move it around the world to cover the various markets and keep a steady price, is the biggest challenge for now and the coming years.

We congratulate Hapag-Lloyd with the receipt of this vessel and trust they will do their utmost to keep performing in the global trade race.
