Visit to Rotterdam World Gateway…
Recently we visited "RWG" or "Rotterdam World Gateway" terminal situated on the Rotterdam Maasvlakte.
This terminal can handle 2.350.000 TEU (Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit) per year. It's quay lenght is 1150 meters and the draft or depth is 20 meters deep, so able to handle the most modern ships with capacities of over 24.000 TEU.
The terminal also has a separate barge/feeder quay of over 550 meters and a depth of 11 meters, for handling smaller sized inland barges and feeder vessels servicing the United Kingdom, Baltic, Scandinavia and other destinations within Europe and surrounding countries.
We herewith thank Hapag-Lloyd and Rotterdam World Gateway for giving us the opportunity to visit this terminal in the Rotterdam port.
