Five times as many barges as usual…
According to forecasts by the “Elektronischen Wasserstraßen Informationssystem (www.elwis.de),
the gauge level at the Duisburg-Ruhrort Gauge will fall below the 181 cm mark in the next few days.
This will further reduce the load capacities of barges, and operators will then require five times as many barges as usual to carry the same tonnage. We will continue to make every effort to transport your containers punctually.
As an alternative to barges we can offer our rail transports, although due to the present situation capacities on the trains are unfortunately not unlimited.
