“Van Donge & de Roo” (D&R) will increase its sustainability as per July 2018, they will do this by creating awareness with their customers by mentioning the total amount of CO2 emission on their invoices for containers transported by sea.

Via their freight management system they are able to analyze, report and if requested to reduce the amount of CO2 emission, by booking with the right carrier who achieve lower emission than their co-competitors  and thus achieve long-term reduction and lower impact on the environment.

The FCL port-to-port calculation is done on data compiled and published by the “Clean Cargo Working Group” (CCWG) a B-2-B initiative with year-on-year emissions-performance from 23 of the world’s leading ocean carriers that represent approximately 85% of global ocean container capacity.

Van Donge & de Roo commented: “Our goal is to raise visibility and awareness on the environmental impact within the sea freight community in among others Rotterdam and the world.”
